Approximately 40,000 U.S. Army personnel worldwide can now submit their updated financial information online, along with a legally binding digital signature, using Infomosaic's SecureXML Java Applet.
The SecureXML Java Applet allows them to access their common access card (CAC) based PKI certificates to create cryptographically secure W3C standard compliant XML signatures.
The new financial disclosure management system uses a J2EE application server with Infomosaic's SecureXML Signature for signature digest calculation, certificate validation and signature verification. On the client side, the application completes digest encryption, an integral part of digital signing, by using the SecureXML Java Applet to access the user certificate and private key.
The SecureXML Java Applet seamlessly integrates with ActivCard Gold and Litronic NetSign CAC middleware for CAC demographic data access. In addition, the applet allows private key access for signing with both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browser. It also works with Sun and Microsoft Java Virtual Machines when using Internet Explorer for document signing. The applet requires zero client-side installation and setup. This allows the U.S. Army to effortlessly deploy the Defense Financial Disclosure Management System to Army personnel worldwide.
